Sabrina Jeffery

Sabrina Jeffery has always been a dancer at heart. As a youngster, she would learn dance moves from movies she saw or create routines in her bedroom. Starting at 9 she was put into dance classes from ballet and tap to jazz and hip hop. She loved the busy lifestyle, physical challenge and connection to music she felt.

As she continued to dance into high school, dance started to be a conflict with extracurricular activities. She started becoming more involved in the shows and musicals at her high school, but was able to use her dance abilities in those shows as a performer, dance leader and choreographer.

Starting at 18, she found Salsa dancing, originally starting with Salsa on1, taking classes with Shawn Sallee and within a year learned salsa on2 with Cory Thomas. Salsa was an addiction from day 1. Her dance background helped her pick up the foundations which led her to social dancing 3-4x a week.

Before 2016, Sabrina was not interested in being on a team or performing, she just wanted to social dance, but after going to her first Salsa Congress, she decided she wanted to get more involved.

Sabrina Jeffery joined Viveza in 2016. For over 2 years, they performed multiple choreographies locally, at congresses and other private events. She really enjoyed being on a team and forming relationships with her peers and towards the end of 2018, she was starting to feel the urge to teach.

In 2019, she created her own company with her fellow co-director Anacristina Ramirez called PHXmvmnt where they taught weekly public classes, monthly workshops, and had a training and performance team. After one choreography and 2 performances, COVID hit and everything stopped.

After things cooled down, Pedro Gonzalez wanted to start Viveza back up and Sabrina wanted to start teaching again. They decided to team up to co-direct Viveza Dance and provide classes & workshops for the public. Sabrina is super excited for this new chapter of Viveza and to create alongside a friend.
