Eddie Santiago is a Puerto Rican singer who is one of the pioneers of the salsa romántica era. Born on August 18, 1955, in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, he is a renowned singer of romantic salsa widely celebrated for his soulful voice and charismatic stage presence. With a career spanning over four decades, Santiago has left an indelible mark on the Latin music scene.

Growing up in a musical family, he was exposed to salsa, bolero, and other genres from a young age. His passion for music led him to pursue a career in singing, and he began performing at local venues in Puerto Rico. In the late 1970s, he moved to New York City, where he immersed himself in the vibrant salsa scene.

The breakthrough in his career came in 1986 with the release of his debut album, “Atrevido y Diferente”, which spawned several hit singles, including “Tu Me Quemas” and “Qué Locura Enamorarme de Ti”. These songs catapulted him to international fame and established him as one of the leading figures in the “salsa romantica” era.

Throughout his career, Santiago has released numerous successful albums and singles, earning critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base worldwide.
