Founded in 2009 by trumpet player Johnny Pena, this 17-member band from Peru’s Callao region is on a mission to revive the traditional sounds of salsa in a contemporary context. With an electrifying stage presence, they blend Fania-style salsa with their unique flavor, creating a musical experience that transcends borders. Zaperoko’s vibrant performances, featuring a diverse ensemble and their iconic Pink Panther salsa dancer, have captivated audiences worldwide, making them a symbol of celebration and resistance in the global salsa community.
